Yesterday, 20 students from our Centre participated with their educators, parents and siblings in our first ever Little Fox Run!  It was an important event for us this year, since some very important people to us have been affected by cancer recently.
    For the first time, in Salmo, students from the Elementary School, Secondary School and the Children's Centre ran at the same time.  The preschool, kindergarten and grade one children ran in the school field, and the older children had a route marked around town.
    It was a really nice event that felt very worthwhile.

Fee Increases:

As announced at our recent Mandatory Parent Meeting and AGM, the fees for daycare and out-of-school care will be increasing effective October 1, 2012.  This increase will help our Centre maintain a balanced budget, but will still be within the low range for daycare fees in the area.
New Rate for daycare (ages 2 ½-Kindergarten)=$5.50/hour up to $35.00/day
New Rate for school-age care= $4.50/hour up to $28.00/day
Rates for Preschool will remain the same for now.
Family discount of $1.00 per hour for 2nd child still apply.

Special Events:

Little Fox Run.  Thursday September 27.  Donations to the Terry Fox Foundation are being accepted at the Children’s Centre until Friday September 28. Please see pledge form in the daycare entryway, or bring in your pledge sheet. Receipts will automatically be issued for donations of $20 or more, if a name and address is provided on the pledge sheet.

Barnyard Breakfast.  Saturday October 13  9:30-11:00.  Salmo Volunteer Firefighters and some local animal lovers will help us provide a petting zoo and pancakes. Breakfast will be available for $4 for adults & $3 for children.

Halloween Party.  Sunday October 28  11:00-1:00.  Participate in the childrens games, songs and stories, grab some lunch or a snack in the concession, or win a cake for $1 in our cake walk.  Great, safe, Halloween fun.

PHOTO DAY Wednesday, October 3, JaceyKendall Photography will be at the Children’s Centre to take individual photos of the children. If you would like portraits of your child in time for Christmas, please bring them to the Centre at 9:30am. Children who usually attend preschool or daycare on that day will have their photo taken after 10:00.

Daycare and Preschool Spaces available!

Our biggest group of Kindergarten-age children have moved on to full-day K, leaving space in our wonderful Daycare and Preschool programs.  Please help us spread the word that we have room for a few more children.
